Our Club

The GFWC Bridgeport Junior Woman's Club, Inc. of Bridgeport, WV, is part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. We are also part of GFWC West Virginia, and a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The GFWC Bridgeport Junior Woman's Club was founded in Bridgeport, WV in 1949, and federated in 1950. Open to all Harrison County women ages 18 and older, the Bridgeport Juniors consists of professional women, single mothers, business owners, students of higher education, homemakers and women from all walks of life.

Our members work together to improve our community and beyond in such important areas as domestic violence prevention, child advocacy, the arts, conservation, education, home life, international outreach and public issues. We know that together, we can accomplish so much.

We also find time to celebrate our achievements and one another by organizing social activities. One perk of working closely together is fostering new friendships with like-minded women. We enjoy movie nights, cookie exchange get-togethers, holiday parties and so much more.

Collectively, we are Living the Volunteer Spirit.
