This fundraiser will race to end hunger in our community! One lucky winner will be awarded the opportunity to see how much food he/she can cart away within two minutes, with all proceeds going back into the community to benefit area children who are food insecure.

Location: Emily Drive Kroger Store (in the Eastpointe Shopping Center, Clarksburg, WV)

Date and Time: Thursday, November 7 at 10:30 a.m. (Shopping Spree will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m., but the 10 semi-finalists must be in place 30 minutes earlier to go over and sign the rules and waiver and draw for the winner.)

Contestant Rules 2019

The 10 semi-finalists will be determined by a random drawing from all raffle tickets received on or about October 31, 2019 and will be notified immediately.

Grocery Grab winner must be 18 years of age or older and sign a release, absolving Kroger and GFWC/Bridgeport Junior Woman’s Club of any liability, meaning Kroger and GFWC/Bridgeport Junior Woman’s Club are not responsible for any injuries the winner may bring upon themselves during the spree. These would include but are not limited to falling or strains due to running or lifting.

Only 1 person can participate in the spree. There will be no relay teams or helpers. However, the winner may name a proxy if he/she is physically unable to perform the activity. The proxy must be 18 years of age or older and sign a release.

The grocery grab is for a designated time only, 120 seconds. Two representatives from the GFWC Bridgeport Junior Woman’s Club will monitor time. At the end of 2 minutes, the winner will immediately stop placing items in the cart and head towards the checkout.

A 90 second, 1 minute, 30 second and countdown from 10 seconds will be announced over the store PA system.

Spree winner will start right inside the doors nearest the produce department with an empty shopping cart. Only one cart can be filled at a time. Should the cart become full, the winner must return to the front of the store to retrieve another empty cart.

The Grocery Grab is limited to edible grocery items only. The following items are not included in the spree: medications and pharmaceuticals, alcohol, tobacco, gift cards, lottery, beauty and hygiene products, laundry detergent and cleaning products, diapers and any other non-food items.

No items from the grocery spree may be returned or exchanged for any reason. Items are not available for cash value. Kroger Plus rewards do not apply to any part of the shopping spree.

Winner may only take two of any like item, e.g. 2 bags of shrimp, 2 hams, 2 packages of steaks, 2 bottles of ranch, etc. If more than two are grabbed, those items will be excluded from the total received.

Winner is not allowed to shop in store rooms, walk-in coolers, prep areas or any other area designated to Kroger employees.

Contestants understand that the ruling of the representatives of the GFWC Bridgeport Junior Woman’s Club is final and agree to their decision.

As the contest sponsor, the GFWC Bridgeport Junior Woman’s Club (together with a contribution from Kroger), will pay for all of the contents of the contest winner’s cart(s).

All 10 semi-finalists agree to being filmed and/or interviewed, as this event will be covered by local media. Winner agrees to have his or her name and likeness used by GFWC Bridgeport Junior Woman’s Club for promotional purposes
